Last week, I listened to an episode of Dr. Mark Hyman’s Podcast, the Doctor’s Farmacy. Dr. Hyman is the Medical Director at Cleveland Clinic’s Center for Functional Medicine and I have found his podcast thought-provoking and informative if you want to learn about the connection between food, health and wellness.
I’m sharing this specific episode which features an interview with Harvard-educated psychiatrist, Dr. Jim Gordon. They discuss healing from the emotional, mental, and physical effects of trauma using techniques which don’t require talk therapy. For example, Dr. Gordon introduces a drawing technique that asks you to 1) draw yourself, 2) draw yourself with your biggest problem, and 3) draw yourself with the problem solved. Dr. Gordon also speaks briefly about the epigenetics of intergenerational trauma (approx minute 23:00).
